A modern engagement in downtown Athens

Anna Roussos and Thanos Asfis are dear friends and vendors throughout the years they have been working together with Rock Paper Scissors.

When their romantic paths met a while ago, we were thrilled to witness the news. So, since a fellow wedding planner will organize their wedding this coming summer, our sweet Anna asked from us to organize and style her engagement shoot. Michail Androulidakis is also a dear friend of ours so it was only natural that he would be the photographer of this shoot.

Anna had a clear vision for her shoot so we prepared an accurate mood board for all vendors to follow.

An open plan loft space in Athens, Greece

It is always about the venue. Hence, after we shared our mood board with the rest of the team we all agreed that the venue would be the most important part in order to fulfill our vision. 10 am lofts, an open plan loft space with amazing daylight was the one we suggested to use as a black canvas for our photographic location space. The large, west-facing window frames, which are custom-made replicas of the original 70s windows that the building had originally, formed the perfect canvass for our photo session.

Modern styling for an indoor engagement shoot

Following our mood board and team’s vision, we chose minimal furniture such as white wired modern tall chairs that we combined with a tall sweetheart table for two with concrete top and iron base. We also used materials like cement, many candles and of course flowers! The flowers were chic and refined: an effortlessly synthesized selection of blush and nude colors complemented with the minimal furniture. Garden roses, painted carnations, anthuriums, amaranths, scabiosa and variety of bleached and dried flowers. With a top of painted greenery to match the palette! We like to follow world trends and some of our arrangements were made with no-floral-foam technique. It also made them look very light and full of air!

A cloud on top of the table and more synthesis on wire bases for our couples’ portrait session. Dinnerwear of course was totally minimal with our fringed napkin and of course the amazing menus prepared by LovemeDo team and perfectly “sealed with a lipstick kiss”. The luscious pleats of the wedding dress is where the inspiration for the cake came from, while preserving the minimal vibe of the decoration, so it all blended in harmoniously, since we all aimed for this shoot to be effortless, fresh and minimal. And we succeeded, since it was a day filled with joy, happy tears, fine champagne and jazz music!

A lovely proposal, a fine love story

Anna was more beautiful than ever: her face was shining looking at the love of her life, while she was wearing her minimal, yet feminine dress. Her bridal beauty was effortless and chic – totally reflecting her refined aesthetics and style. Thanos looked gorgeous in his perfectly tailored grey Neapolitan suit, which beautifully emphasized his firm poise and pointed out his charm and elegance.

Anna, our beautiful bride-to-be, shares with us the proposal story: “On a sunny morning in February 2020 I have noticed Thanos’ anxiety building up as he was nervously strolling around the bedroom. I was ready to get up from bed when he ordered me to stay in and went to the bakery to get some croissant, because he wanted to prepare “breakfast in bed” . We don’t usually do it, so I felt like something was “cooking”here, but wasn’t sure what it was all about. He came back from the bakery and prepared a nice breakfast, we spent lazy morning in bed, drinking coffee, eating croissants, cuddling, laughing and everything was so romantic if not this constant feeling that he is hiding something from me. Morning ended and we got to our daily routine, doing some work and chores in the house… I could’t stop noticing that he is not being himself. On my question “Is anything wrong?” he would vaguely answer “Nope” and I could hear him breath heavily once in a while. It was a midday as I was sitting in my pyjamas at our home office answering some emails and he came to kiss me. Another heavy breath.. I told him: “Whatever is on your mind – say it now!”, he smiled at me, I could see a relief on his face as he said “Don’t move” and went to bring something from another room … All I remember afterwards, Thanos going down on one knee and asking “Will you marry me?” … There we were, alone in our lovely house, wearing pyjamas, crying from happiness, because what we both wanted so much started to become reality. It was one of the most special moments for both of us, filled with so much happiness and love. The day he offered me his heart, and officially asked for mine, even though it was all his from long ago”.

Anna’s review for Rock Paper Scissors Events

“RPS ladies aren’t just one of the vendors we love to work with, but also a dear friend. Their bubbly personality and positive energy fills the room, when they walk in, and we love it about them so much! They are fun to be around, greatest supporters and amazing problem solvers. We appreciated how carefully Helena and Paraskevi listened to all our ideas about styling and overall concept and we could feel, that their main goal was to make our engagement celebration exactly the way we want it to be, that even smallest details represent our personalities and fit our tastes. Having RPS as your event designers and planners simply means – everything will be smooth and as you dreamt about it!”

Always thankful for our dear vendors:
