A Chic Yet Elegant Celebration at the Island Art And Taste Wedding Venue at the Athenian Riviera

Joanne and Karim are two lovely, fun, and amazing souls who deeply fell in love with Greece.

Thus, for this Lebanese couple, having an Athens wedding was something that felt natural! Plus, as someone who loves summer, sun, and sea, Greece proved to be the perfect destination to curate a one-of-a-kind celebration.

They also wanted to gather all of their loved ones in one place where they could have a unique experience and meet one another. For that reason, the couple also had a pre-wedding party, allowing their family and friends to mingle and acquaint. Most of their guests came from all corners of the world, so they didn’t have the chance to meet before. Thus the party was an excellent interlude to the celebration that followed! As their planners, we made sure to tailor a dream event at the Island Art And Taste wedding venue, ensuring a bespoke experience for all!

Their Love Story

The beginnings of their amazing journey started three years ago when mutual friends suggested that Joanne and Karim would be a dream match. However, they weren’t wrong. The charm of their friends worked swiftly as they invited them to a day party and they both connected. They simply felt a strong connection that evolved into seeing one another every week, fastly becoming a loving relationship. By finding solace in many common things, such as similar values, friends, same nationality, ambition, and love for travel and adventure; Joanne and Karim savored their beautiful amour. Even though they consider themselves quite different in terms of personalities, they complement each other perfectly!

Joanne, having been to Greece at least 10 times before, was already in love with all this country offers. Because Karim hadn’t been before, they travelled for the first time together and he was in awe! In fact, he was so stunned that he wished to go back after a few months. But this time he had another idea – popping the big question.

That being said, it felt only natural to have an Athens wedding as they both felt compelled by the allure of Greece. In Joanne’s words:

“Greece somehow reminds us of home and we find many similar things as Lebanon like the warmth of the people!”

Island Art And Taste wedding venue

This waterfront Gallery venue near Athens was the perfect spot to gather all of their guests who came from Lebanon, the UK, UAE, the US, and France. Not only does it offer a magnificent view and open space for celebration, but it also hosts symbolic ceremonies – which was a must for Joanne and Karim.

Another important aspect of why the Island Art And Taste wedding venue was their choice was that it hosted everything in one place. The couple simply didn’t like the thought of having to move their guests around for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Plus, this place allows late evening music – they wanted to celebrate and entertain everyone with the greatest event of their lives!

Nude Color Palette with a dash of Sage Green and Bordeaux – Chic Wedding Ceremony and Reception with a Bohemian Flair

Their waterfront ceremony setting was a sight to see! Their guests were bewitched by the gorgeous floral decor as soon as they entered. Their symbolic ceremony was infused with heartwarming sentiments and beautiful emotions, melting the hearts of everyone present.

This celebration at the Island Art And Taste wedding venue was all about chic vibes with a generous dash of elegance. As they are a fun couple, they didn’t wish to walk the conventional path and go for a classic and extravagant theme. Instead, they opted for a modern aesthetic, featuring nude tones and boho flair with pampas.

In addition, they wanted to introduce a more elegant touch by including a pop of color, such as bordeaux and sage green. This elevated the aesthetic from simply boho to simply awe-inspiring! Adorned with various gorgeous elements, the couple and their guests enjoyed an iconic reception atmosphere adorned with fairy lights.

We are sure that you’ve already fallen in love with the story of Joanne and Karim! Already dreaming about hosting your own day at the Island Art And Taste wedding venue? Then don’t hesitate to reach out. Wish to see more inspiration? Discover more of our couple’s weddings!
