Roanne and Can’s island Athens Riviera wedding is one for the books! They will literally take your breath away.
This gorgeous Turkish couple decided to celebrate their next chapter in life by having a modern elegant wedding in this beautiful coastal area, nestled in the southern suburbs of Athens. They dreamed of providing an outstanding guest experience for all of their loved ones, entrusting their vision to our hands. It goes without saying that it was our utmost pleasure to translate these dreams into reality!
Their Love Story
As this lovely couple reminisced about how they met, Can was especially grateful that the technology advanced so much, providing them with the opportunity to meet one another via Tinder. Even though Roanne had second thoughts about getting to know him as she didn’t look for a relationship, her heart spoke a different language. After talking for four months via phone, they decided to meet. It was supposed to be a friendly rendezvous but unexpectedly, passion and love for one another were ignited. In Can’s words:
“It was supposed to be a friendly meeting for a few hours, which turned into a full weekend which turned into years of butterflies in the stomach. I am so lucky that neither of us took a rain check on that day because it would have been the biggest miss in my life.”
However, after a year, Can moved to Athens, and afterward, she moved to Barcelona to do her MBA. Another challenge was the pandemic. Still, it was no match for their blossoming relationship even though it was a long-distance one. For a whole year, they travelled back and forth to be with each other. Now, Athens is going to be their new home, and that is why they chose to have an island Athens Riviera wedding.
We particularly enjoyed one detail of their relationship. During the early days when they went to the cinema to watch a movie, Can bought Roanne a Kinder Surprise egg, and the toy was a couple of rings! Fate had her own way of telling these two that their path was woven in the stars. To this day, they get one another Kinder eggs. How sweet is that?
Island Athens Riviera Wedding Venue
The couple hosted their big day at the Island Art & Taste, which is a Gallery wedding venue on the Athens Riviera. The location proved to be perfect for their exquisite taste and artful flair. Not only the setting, but the views from this magnificent spot are surreal!
Lavish Waterfront Ceremony Setting
The day started with morning preparations and excitement in the air. Each of their details embodied chic yet timeless sophistication. After getting ready and savoring those moments, they got married in a waterfront symbolic ceremony. The setting was a gorgeous blend of contemporary elegance and whimsy. From the black guest chairs to the otherworldly floral decor, especially the black and green arch; their island Athens Riviera wedding was an ode to modern romance.
Roanne was a true vision as she walked down the aisle, leaving Can absolutely speechless! Following their heartfelt ceremony, the couple enjoyed their newlywed bliss by having an intimate portrait session down on the beach.
Classy yet Whimsical Reception Galore
When it was time to celebrate their union, their guests were first welcomed by a cocktail reception and then by an awe-inspiring dinner area. The overall theme was jazz – from the decor to the music. Roanne even named the tables after famous jazz artists and had a seating chart curated according to this. We tailored the setting and decor with a square shape dinner area, featuring hanging pergolas. In addition, the color palette for the tables was composed of black and soft pink hues.
We loved seeing everyone so happy and enjoying the whole atmosphere! The couple and their guests took the fun to the dance floor, for which we also included lavish greenery and hanging disco balls.
