When a Spanish guy, met an Italian girl in Zurich and decided to get married in Greece!
This love story was sealed after Christian’s proposal to Melania in Porto (Portugal), on the top of “Torre dos clerigos” with the magnificent view of the whole town. They wanted simple yet elegant details for their beach wedding and we promised them they would get them. And they were so happy we kept, of course, our promise!
Words from our Couple
Traditional Greek Wedding in Pylos
Church chosen was the one in Pylos the older castle of Navarino, called Palaiokastro or Palaionavarino and the more recent castle, called Niokastron.
Niokastro was built in 1573 by the Turks, and in 1686 was captured by the Venetians. It came again under Turkish domination in 1715, along with the castles of Koroni and Palionavarino. One of the most important buildings inside is the Church of the Metamorphosis (Transfiguration): Cross-in-square domed church dedicated to the Transfiguration of Christ. It was used as a Moslem mosque and was later converted into a Christian church. This is where the ceremony was held! You can only imagine the whole atmosphere.
Our bride was escorted by Greek traditional musicians and walked all the way from the entrance of Castle to the Church along with her family and best friends. The ceremony was something unique with all the blessings that followed from the priest and couple and guests embraced every single moment of the most important part of the wedding day. And the smiles of happiness were the living proof that these precious memories will be cherished for a lifetime.
From RockPaperScissorsEvents Greece…When a Spanish guy, met an Italian girl in Zurich and decided to get married in Greece! This love story was sealed after Christian’s proposal to Melania in Porto. In their short visits to Athens they showed us how much they loved Greek food (meze), Greek company (Groom has so many friends from Greece) and of course the lovely location we suggested, for their beach wedding.
They wanted simple yet elegant details for their wedding and we promised them they would get them. Some details we loved: the canopy set up on the beach, bride’s personal dream that came true (She arrived on a horse, its name was Omerta!), the balloons guests set free after “I do”.
Everyone had so much fun and all the guests were really moved by the love of this couple.
Even with the help of the most skilled planner, and most talented vendors, it can be difficult to create a day that feels authentic, romantic and fun.
But Cristian & Melania’s beach wedding in Greece was just that, and then some.
And it was captured, so beautifully, by Elias Kordelakos Photography, one of the most renowned wedding photographers in Greece, and styled by leading event planners, RockPaperScissors.
With a backdrop overlooking the Sea, in the pretty Athens suburb of Glyfada, Cristian & Melania got married at Septem private beach club.
Their wedding on the sand was a personal and intimate affair, with guests welling up as Cristian walked his beaming mother down the aisle, and Melania arrived on horseback, in her stunning backless Pronovias wedding dress.
And afterward, they partied long after sunset, with a gorgeous seaside reception decked out in the prettiest blooms, and most elegant decor.
Ever considered getting married in Greece? This beach wedding might just inspire you to go for it!
