A Moho backyard wedding at a 19th century castle

This wedding at Pyrgos Melissourgou in Greece is a real proof that the most amazing results come when you let yourself live the experience without stress and when you enjoy each moment of the process.

Modern Earth-Tone wedding in the premises of a majestic tower

More and more couples lean towards unique and distinguished locations for their wedding. When they don’t choose a Greek Island then Athens is the place they mostly choose, and truth is that there are several secluded treasures to host the most elegant and romantic weddings.

The location: Melissougos Castle

It is one of the oldest and probably most historic private residences in Greece, that are still maintained in excellent condition and it belongs to the same family since 1836.
We can absolutely say that this castle literally has it all: History, exclusivity, beautiful view to the sea, magnificent spots for the photo shoot of the couple like a beautiful orange garden, a winery, a traditional orthodox Greek chapel and a sunset that fades out into the infinite horizon. What else one would ask for and yet being also so close to Athens?

A simple and riveting wedding ceremony in Athens

Rania and Chris wanted for their ceremony to be simple, since the old Greek Orthodox chapel was so beautiful and unique already. We decorated the front stoned built wall with a flower garland with white, dusty pink and soft peach colors to transfuse a sense of softness, clarity and pureness and the same color scheme was followed for the ground flower assortments behind the chairs which dignified the entranced to the closest ceremony area.

The modern boho decoration for the wedding dinner

For the wedding dinner decoration we created a natural, olive’s backyard ambience paired with refined, thoughtfully curated details such as the favors boxes in soft petrol color and dusty pink wrapper.

Although there were both rectangular and round tables, you couldn’t tell which one was prettier since flowers either way were simply splendid. It was a combination of fresh and dry flowers in earthy tones that aligned perfectly with the castle’s surroundings, being at the same time modern and sophisticated.

Words from our bride:

“I was surprisingly relaxed on the morning of the wedding. I think I was expecting nerves but really all I had was excitement and this calming vibe that really helped me enjoy the day. One of the most memorable moments was as I walked up to the church with my father and saw family and friends from all walks of our lives looking at me. It was such a great feeling of love. And then I got to marry my guy which was the best!!

It was hard to visualise what the end result would look like but once I saw the flowers and decorations everywhere I just knew it was all like I wanted it to be. And most importantly it felt like “us”

Not over the top not too simple. Just right”
